Aruba, a tiny paradise belonging to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where the sun is present almost 365 days a year, is located nearly 8,000 km from Amsterdam in the Caribbean. This tropical desert means “red gold” in Spanish and takes its name from the discovery of this precious metal on the island, after the arrival of Europeans.

Despite a lack of vegetation, it offers a very diverse and colourful aquatic fauna! You will see many exotic fish like barracudas and green morays.

On the island, you can discover its beautiful white sand beaches and crystal-clear water, and enjoy an incredible holiday in the shade of palm trees. You will be impressed by Eagle Beach and Palm Beach that offer breath-taking scenery, great swimming and snorkelling opportunities. If you want to surf the impressive waves of this destination, opt for the beaches of Black Beach Stone, and Boca Andicuri, both ideal places for wind or kite surfing.

Do not forget to visit the capital, Oranjestad. Near the marina, you will see Fort Zoutman, built in the 18th century, and Willem III Tower, an ancient lighthouse home to a museum dedicated to recounting the history of the island. The Archaeological Museum presents indigenous objects dating for some 2,500 BC. In addition, the city is full of small colonial houses of all colours, which give a picturesque charm that will make you want to visit, stroll and go shopping! After a good history lesson, feel free to wander along the waterfront where you will find L.G. Smith Boulevard, which is dotted with shops and malls.

It is a very lively destination, ideal for romantic, young and festive souls. This chic island has many restaurants, cinemas, theatres, cabarets, bars and discos that will allow you to make the most of your holiday!
