Dining and Dress Code

cataering group (2)One of the things we love most about a cruise with Star Clippers is the relaxed informal atmosphere on board. There are no pre-set seating arrangements in the dining room and each dining room has a number of different table sizes, so you simply sit where you wish and with who you wish including the ship’s officers who join passengers in the dining room most nights. Shorts and t shirts are fine for breakfast and lunch. In the evening gentlemen should wear shirts, casual elegance is the phrase we like to use.

Meals are generally scheduled as follows:

06.30 to 10.30 Continental style breakfast or coffee, tea, pastries and juices in the piano bar
08.00 to 10.00 Breakfast buffet in the dining room
12.00 to 14.00 Lunch buffet on board
17.00 to 18.00 Hors d’oeuvres available in the Tropical Bar or Piano Bar
19.30 to 22.00 Dinner “a la carte” in the dining room
23.30 to 00.30 Midnight snack

What is the food like on Star Clipper?

20081220_JH_1251 (2)The food on board is of a very good standard and will offer you a continental breakfast with Croissants, Toasted English muffins or sweet Danish pastries. Tips and Gratuities

Gratuities on board the ship are not included in the cruise fare and are at the sole discretion of each individual passenger. If you are happy with the level of service you received and wish to offer a gratuity these are to be paid at the end of your sailing. The suggested amount is euro 8pppn (euro 56 for a 7 night cruise).
