Do we have to be involved – is it a working ship?

DSC01459No the ship is very much as you would expect a cruise ship to be, you can be as spoilt as you like. However if you would like to have a go you can help pull the masts up, climb the rigging, learn to create sailors knots in the ropes and watch as they mend any tears in the masts with the massive sewing machine – see photo. Star Clippers have their own crew, but they do allow passengers to help at set times. This is not a working holiday

Is it a small ship, as we only like small ships?

Star Clipper and Star Flyer take just 170 people when the ship is full and Royal Clipper will take 220 when full, so yes they are super small ships. The ambience on the ship provides a friendly and informal feeling throughout. Lazy days in stunning locations and with great new friends
